Four proven industry experts are now pooling their expertise under one roof: Foconis GmbH. This creates a parent company for four specialized solution providers that support companies from the financial sector in the areas of payment, trading, compliance management, business intelligence and analytics. Customers beyond the borders of German-speaking countries will benefit from a central point of contact for scalable solutions for key financial processes. Main Capital Partners is involved as a specialist for enterprise software and supports the company with its experience in an advisory capacity.

At the end of 2023, four well-known representatives of the financial industry pooled their expertise under a single parent company, Foconis GmbH. The sister companies pdv and van den Berg and FOCONIS and GenoData had already joined forces at the beginning of 2023, each in a separate holding company, in order to pool their expertise and exploit synergies. The new alliance continues this path and underlines the complementary orientation of all partners towards each other. In addition, a joint brand image will be established on the market. As part of this decision, the companies involved will be renamed in stages and their image will be gradually adapted.

• FOCONIS AG, Vilshofen a. d. Donau: Manufacturer and provider of the data quality, control and compliance software FOCONIS-ZAK®, supports the financial world in the digitalized, automated fulfillment of regulatory requirements. www.foconis.de
  GenoData EDV-Systeme GmbH has been part of FOCONIS since 2023 and offers solutions in the areas of data and process management as well as business intelligence for the financial sector with its GDix software. www.genodata.de
  Both companies will operate under the new name Foconis Analytics GmbH – GenoData at the beginning of 2024, followed by Foconis AG in May 2024.
• pdv Financial Software GmbH, Hamburg: provider of the platform-based capital market software solution DECIDE, which covers the entire securities trading process chain. www.pdv-fs.de
  At the beginning of 2024, the company will operate under the new name Foconis Trading GmbH.
• van den Berg FS GmbH, Herzogenrath: Specialist in processing payment transactions and provider of the vdb/PPM software platform for instant payments, Payments-as-a-Service, CESOP and its own SWIFT Service Bureau. www.vdb.de
  van den Berg FS GmbH will change its name to Foconis Payment GmbH in the first half of 2024.

Experienced management quartet expects success through increased competitiveness

Christian Fink will be CEO of the new Foconis GmbH. Olaf Pulwey has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Peter Kretzmann from the management of pdv FS GmbH will take on the role of CTO at Foconis GmbH. The quartet is completed by Florian Festner, former Finance Director of IDL (insightsoftware Germany). He will take over the position of CFO. “From now on, customers will benefit from our integrated overall view of financial processes,” explains CEO Christian Fink. “With our team and our expertise, we will continue to be successful in an increasingly complex market environment, even beyond national borders,” continues Christian Fink.

Traditions, added value, synergies

Foconis down-to-earth, medium-sized company philosophy will continue to guide it in the future. The commitment to more than 350 jobs and the established locations was therefore easy: Herzogenrath, Hamburg, Vilshofen an der Donau and Landau in der Pfalz will thus remain with the company. In this way, all parties involved are sustainably promoting customer proximity, agile processes and short decision-making paths. Foconis also stands for reliability, availability and security. Olaf Pulwey, CCO responsible for Sales and Marketing/PR, assures: “Right from the start of our discussions, it was clear that the careful organization of the process would prevent unwanted disruptions for customers. There will be hardly any noticeable organizational changes.” For example, customers will retain all known contacts in Key Account, Service, Support and Consulting.

Foconis GmbH offers an integrated, highly specialized portfolio of products and services. This consolidated expertise and the combined offering for various areas of the financial sector give customers advantages in the selection and purchasing process, among other things.
